Board shorts as lounge wear

Image
I've had these Roxy board shorts for like, forever.  It's always too cold to go swimming, so nowadays I use them for exercise or just to laze around at home.  They're pretty cute worn with a white sports bra that was part of a set. The low waist helps when dinner is huge (and totally satisfying *burp*).  There're actually people who think I don't eat!  Craycray......

Never too old for a sexy denim dress

Whoever says that women over 40 need to dress like an obasan, sock them in the face!  We're never too old for sexy, including a figure-hugging Lara J  zip-up denim dress.  I wore this darling when mummy and I had a girly brunch at Club 55, MBS.  We'd originally wanted to try the buffet at Adrift, but the food wasn't enticing enough that day. Go denim on denim by pairing this with a white denim crop jacket if you dare!

Grey on grey outfit

When I wore this combo to the office, colleagues mistook it for a dress.  In reality, I decided to go grey on grey by matching an off-shoulder gathered top from  MDS  and a delicate printed skirt from  Hollyhoque .  The separates were in such close shades of the colour that they really did look like a one-piece! I'm loving all of MDS' off-shoulder tops, especially the gathered designs, as they're bloody comfortable.  Not only do they work for the office on casual Fridays, they're perfect for casual days when we want to bare some skin tastefully and keep cool at the same time.

Red zebra

Lunch with my fave salad kaki, Yen Ling, at posh Millenia Walk, was the perfect opportunity for the red and white striped knit bodycon I bought during my most recent getaway to make its debut.  We met at The Green Bar for their smoked duck hotseller. I didn't want to take the focus away from the neckline detail, so I went bare and opted for stud earrings, a Givenchy lizard print bracelet and rings instead.  First time I'm trying out a knuckle ring and I'm really digging this cutie!  The waist is slightly too loose to be considered a bodycon on my frame, but it's great for finishing a huge bowl of healthy greens.  I might throw on a denim boyfriend jacket and flip flops for a casual cafe outing.

Online shopping

Image
Like your typical vainpot, this chick loves loves LOVES shopping.  But with Singapore just a tiny red dot on the world map and a population of too many people, hitting the stores in town on weekends means braving hordes of shoppers and an occasional obasan elbow-jabbing you in the boob.  Not fun. So online shopping is a godsend.  With plenty of free apps and websites available, I can view the cutest things on my mobile phone anytime, anywhere.  Which might not always be a good thing for shopaholics because we're tempted by everything. Like these cute and comfortable hot pink shorts with white piping, I clicked and bought them without thinking.  But just as all shopaholics do, I rationalised away the purchase.  A girl still wants to look cute at home after all.

Hype up stripes

A golden rule this old broad follows: NEVER pass up a good fit and fall.  So when I tried on my fits-like-a-dream  MDS  baby, I instantly fell in love.  Stripes, like marble and all kinds of quirky graphics, make a simple bodycon stand out and the asymetrical neckline of this dress adds interest. To break up the monochromatic effect, I chose sunny orange heels and added some cheerful bright colour to the day.

MacDonald's and crochet

Image
I'm all kinds of obsessed with my Kinstore  crochet shorts!  The trend may be dying, but it's only now that I'm wearing this item purchased almost 2 years ago : /  The reason?  Hubs said it looked like a tablecloth when he first saw it. Surprise surprise, when we felt like MacDonald's breakfast on Sunday, I decided to just pull it on and it didn't look too bad!  For some colour, I paired it with a lime knit crop and layered on some bracelets.  Just nice for a beach stroll after eating *burp*
